The One Chicago Fund (OCF) is a nonprofit organization that builds public-private partnerships, convenes and collaborates with the City of Chicago, leaders and organizations representing neighborhoods, businesses, nonprofits, and philanthropies to provide strategic advice, sweat equity, and direct financial investments with the goal of improving the daily lived experiences of Chicago residents. OCF is a primary partner of My CHI. My Future (MCMF), a new youth initiative spearheaded by the Chicago Mayor’s Office that aims to connect Chicago’s youth with engaging, safe, and youth-centered out-of-school experiences that help prepare them for success in life, school, and employment. More than 200 Chicago organizations, agencies, and businesses offer learning and employment opportunities through the MCMF digital platform. This project grant provides support for a marketing campaign to connect youth and their parents and guardians to a new MCMF mobile App, which is designed to streamline access to and facilitate the discovery of MCMF programs and opportunities. The marketing campaign will target youth in 15 high-needs Chicago neighborhoods.
Established in 2011, the One Chicago Fund invests in the people and organizations that work to make the city a better place to live and do business. It supports civic engagement and public-private partnerships around affordable housing; public safety; urban conservation and open space; and education, arts and culture. It also invests in and amplifies the positive work of residents and neighborhoods. With this award, the One Chicago Fund produces the first annual Summit on Poverty Reduction in Chicago.
