Nuffield Foundation

Nuffield Foundation is an independent charitable trust with a mission to advance educational opportunity and social wellbeing. The award provides support to Ada Lovelace Institute (Ada), a project of Nuffield Foundation, to advance research, policy, and practice seeking to ensure that data and artificial intelligence (AI) benefit people and society. This will be done in three ways. First, by convening diverse voices to create an inclusive understanding of the ethical issues arising from data and AI. Second, by building evidence to support rigorous research and fostering informed debate on how data and AI affect people and society. Third, by shaping and informing good policy and practice to prioritize societal benefits in the design and deployment of data and AI. Grant funds will allow Ada to expand its research and analysis to more deeply inform technology policy developments in Europe and beyond.
