Natya Dance Theatre

Natya Dance Theatre (Natya) is a Chicago-based performing and teaching company focused on the classical South Indian dance-theatre, Bharata Natyam. With this International Connections Fund award, Natya collaborates with a contemporary Indian dance master and his company to create a new theatrical dance work that combines aspects of classical and contemporary Indian dance to be performed both in Chicago and Chennai, India.

In support of a dance exchange with Indonesia. The Chicago and Indonesian companies will co-create a theatrical dance piece that will be performed in Chicago and Indonesia.
