The National Low Income Housing Coalition educates, organizes and advocates for decent, affordable housing in healthy neighborhoods for everyone. As current federal housing policy discourse centers on the federal government’s role in housing, it is important to have a clear picture of how state and local governments contribute to resolving the housing crisis, and the mismatch between housing costs and low-income households’ ability to pay. The Coalition will use this grant to produce a report that identifies and quantifies the ways and the degree to which states and localities provide rental assistance with public funds, apart from the federal funds that they receive.
