$100,000

The National Housing & Rehabilitation Association is a national trade group of affordable housing developers, owners, and professionals. The affordable housing industry lacks actionable information about how best to reduce energy and water use in government-assisted housing, which consumes nearly $5 billion annually in utility expenses. The grant supports forums for owners and operators of government-assisted housing to meet and share how to evaluate, finance, and implement cost-effective, energy-efficient building improvements.

2013 (1 year 11 months)
$200,000

The National Housing & Rehabilitation Association is a national trade group of affordable housing developers, owners and professionals that uses policy analysis, advocacy and training to engage policymakers about issues, including energy efficiency, that affect government-assisted housing. Reducing the nearly $5 billion in utility expenses the federal government spends on energy efficiency improvements in housing it supports could free those resources for more productive uses, such as preserving more affordable housing. NHRA will use this grant to develop a new training forum for owners and operators of government-assisted housing on how to evaluate, finance, and implement cost-effective, energy-efficient building improvements.
