The National Foundation for India (NFI) was established in 1992 in response to the need to build the capacity of civil society organizations to address problems of deep-seated poverty and inequality. In 2012, NFI received an award from the MacArthur and Ford Foundations that established a small grants facility to support local civil society organizations to implement sexual and reproductive health interventions for underserved populations of adolescent girls and young women. This tie-off award provides final support to NFI to conclude this project. NFI is also documenting projects and sharing lessons learned with the field.
The National Foundation for India (NFI) will establish and operate a “Youth Innovation Fund” to administer a small grants facility that would help catalyze leadership and innovation in developing effective strategies to address the sexual and reproductive health needs of young people in India.
