Grants

2022 (2 years)
$350,000

The National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders is a national network of over 170 mission-driven organizations that serve as anchor institutions in geographically and ethnically diverse Latino communities in 43 states, DC, and Puerto Rico. Members of the organization invest in their local communities by building affordable housing, addressing gentrification, supporting the growth of small businesses, and providing financial counseling for credit-building and homeownership. As a US Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution, the National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders strengthens and coordinates the capacity of its network to deploy capital in support of improving the lives of residents of the communities in which they serve by investing in its members through both grants and loans. It also works with local and national investors and policymakers to advance community investment through research, advocacy, and technical advice. This grant supports the current activities of the National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders, while also expanding its leadership development work in efforts to create a pipeline of diverse Latino leaders. This includes the National Alliance of Latino CDFI Executives, an initiative to unite and amplify Latino-led Community Development Financial Institutions by prioritizing access to investment and equity capital, developing new forms of peer learning and engagement, and undertaking policy advocacy designed to create better outcomes for the communities they serve. Ultimately, NALCAB’s work advances Latino-led institutions seeking to support underrepresented and historically marginalized communities through increased access to capital.
