Michigan State University is a top ranked research university that maintains a globally recognized College of Education focused on improving teaching and learning across the world. This award supports University faculty to undertake research that will address the current gap in large-scale, data-driven evidence that identifies factors associated with improved secondary education access, retention, and transition. Researchers will use recent nationally representative Demographic and Health Survey data, and other complementary available data sets, from India, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda to generate country-specific subnational profiles that will help to identify factors associated with barriers to secondary education.
