Mezcla Media Collective

Mezcla Media Collective is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women and non-binary filmmakers from diverse backgrounds build their careers in fiction and nonfiction film. Based in Chicago, the organization currently has more than 700 members, including filmmakers across Midwestern states. Mezcla Media Collective serves as a pathway for emerging filmmakers from diverse backgrounds to participate in Chicago’s film and television industry and develops other opportunities for its members to build their networks, gain skills, and explore the craft of cinematic storytelling. This grant supports Mezcla Media Collective’s leaders to travel to key industry events to build the organization’s network, and plan future programming. The intended outcomes are a more robust set of opportunities for diverse filmmakers in the Chicago region to work in film.
