Malta Conferences Foundation

The Malta Conferences Foundation fosters peace and security in the Middle East through science diplomacy, which brings scientists from 16 Middle East countries and Morocco  to meet face-to-face to collaborate on matters of shared importance such as water scarcity, climate change, education, and nuclear proliferation.  Led by Nobel Laureates in attendance, the participants have high profiles in their home countries, where they are positioned to influence public policy.  This award supports the Malta VIII Conference, entitled “Frontiers of Science: Research and Education in the Middle East – A Bridge to Peace”.  Four Nobel Laureates and five distinguished Arab scientists will deliver plenary lectures and participate in workshops.  Outcomes of the conference wil be disseminated via print and electronic media and via influence of the select participants on their return.
