Makepeace Productions is producing the documentary, Tribal Justice, which follows two judges, from two different Native American tribes in California, as they work to implement restorative justice practices in their communities. Native Americans are incarcerated at more than twice the national average, and this film explores the linkage between poverty, substance abuse, and incarceration while exploring the viability of community-based justice reform. The intended outcome is a feature-length documentary for television audiences that can be used by policymakers and advocacy groups working towards criminal justice systems reform.
