This three-year grant of $300,000 awarded to Lawyers for Constitutional Rights and Freedoms (“Jurix”), a leading Russian human rights organization established in 2003, is in support of a project to provide training and professional development to human rights lawyers, enhancing the quality of human rights litigation in Russian courts and strengthening the upholding of international human rights standards in Russia. Foundation dollars would be used primarily for staff salaries and to run training seminars. The grant advances Foundation strategy for Russia by raising the professional level of human rights lawyers working to enhance freedom of expression and access to justice.
