The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) works to support and advocate for women journalists and photographers around the world through reporting fellowships, emergency resources, safety trainings, mentorships, and awards. It is the leading voice for gender equity as a press freedom issue and provides a range of programming for women media professionals at all stages of their careers. This grant provides general support for IWMF with a special focus on the organization's work to lift up and address challenges at the intersection of gender and racial equity in journalism. The intended outcomes are greater representation of, and opportunities for, women and women of color in journalism and, as a result, more comprehensive and accurate reporting for the American public.

The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) supports women reporters, photographers and media makers with global reporting opportunities, safety training, emergency funds, and advocacy. The goal of IWMF is to elevate the work of women journalists and promote gender equity in media. This award supports the Black Journalists Therapy Relief Fund, which was created in 2020 to provide financial assistance to Black women reporters experiencing emotional trauma as a result of reporting about the racial justice protests, job loss due to the pandemic, or hostile work environments. The intended outcome is to provide immediate and short-term financial support to a group of reporters disproportionately affected by the structural racism that exists in the nation and in newsrooms.
The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) is a nonprofit organization that supports women journalists reporting stories internationally in a variety of ways. Round Earth Media pairs early career U.S. journalists with early career journalists from countries in which they are reporting to work together on the same story, while being mentored by veteran reporters and editors. In 2019, Round Earth Media became a project of IWMF, to continue its bi-national reporting partnership model under IWMF’s leadership. Each Round Earth Media story is co-published via radio and print/photo essay in news outlets that have broad reach within each country. IWMF, via Round Earth Media, facilitates the production of public interest global journalism for American audiences, while helping cultivate the next generation of journalists in the United States and abroad.
