The International Foundation for Valuing Impacts seeks to drive the global integration of environmental and social impacts within financial analysis to promote effective resource allocation and achieve long-term financial stability. Building upon the foundational work of the International Sustainability Standards Board and other regulatory bodies, the organization is developing methodologies and valuation estimates, conducting research to support impact valuation, increasing awareness about the feasibility and importance of full impact disclosure, and building widespread market adoption of impact valuation among corporations, investors, and policymakers. The organization’s work is directed at multiple audiences including investors, corporations, management information and financial data systems providers, regulatory bodies, the general public, and civil society. Success in its main goals will mean that the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts has contributed to the incorporation of sustainability metrics into business decision-making through the use of impact valuation, leading to better outcomes for people and the planet.
