Head and Heart Philanthropy

Founded in 2019, Head and Heart Philanthropy’s mission is to support a series of convenings that will serve to both cultivate African-American funders and engage African-American influencers in K-12 education. Head and Heart Philanthropy launched a project, Mosaic Genius, as a social impact brand that seeks to build a strong entrepreneur and wealth-building ecosystem for entrepreneurs and investors serving communities of color. Under the Mosaic brand, Head and Heart Philanthropy facilitates convenings, content development, consulting, and relevant education engagement for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and impact-focused organizations. Mosaic Genius hosts a gathering each summer attended by cross-sector investors and funders focused on improving social outcomes and wealth-building in Black and Brown communities in the United States.  In summer 2021, Mosaic Genius holds a session on investing in environmental justice by implementing lead pipe replacement, the readiness of minority contractors to address the issue, and potential supports for pipe replacement for low-income households. The summer events are the first of a series, with events in Chicago following in the fall of 2021.
