Until Freedom

The Foundation for Social Impact imagines a world where historically disadvantaged communities are fully enfranchised to attain economic prosperity. It works to resource a culture of civic and economic participation in underrepresented communities to erect and sustain viable, 21st century ecosystems. Its project, Until Freedom is an intersectional social justice initiative that works with local partners across the United States to address systemic and racial injustice. It believes that those closest to the pain are closest to the solution. Therefore, it focuses on investing in those who are the most directly impacted by cyclical poverty, inequality, and state violence. Programmatically, it works to advance police accountability and criminal justice reform through a mix of coalition building, on-the-ground organizing, campaigning, training, and advocating for policy. This award strengthens Until Freedom project’s infrastructure and racial justice activities.
