FairVote is a national nonprofit organization that is widely regarded as a leading national advocate for the adoption of electoral system reforms. Through research, legal work and advocacy, FairVote advocates for changes that include ranked choice “instant runoff” voting, multimember districts, and other forms of proportional representation, as well as a national popular vote and voter registration modernization. This grant supports a communications research and communications capacity building project co-funded with the Joyce Foundation that will enable FairVote and others to introduce ranked choice and other proportional representation voting methods to civic leaders, journalists, and individuals, with a specific focus on the Midwest.
