Education Support Organization

Headquartered in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, Education Support Organization operates low-cost primary schools in four states of India that currently serve approximately 44,000 children living in urban slums. Having developed an effective model of primary education, the NGO is implementing and evaluating a sustainable and scalable approach to delivering secondary education in the city of Ahmedabad for children transitioning from primary to secondary school living in slum areas. This secondary education pilot is reaching approximately 1,815 children in grades 8, 9 and 10, and the lessons of the pilot will be used to advocate for scale up in Ahmedabad and other locations where the organization has operations.
