To enable the National Human Rights Commission of Indonesia to participate in the 2009 Summer Institute for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.

In support of two workshops and follow up activities to advance research on the demographic dividend by generating a new set of research results and contributing to the creation of a new generation of developing country scholars with relevant knowledge (over three years).

To bring four women forestry officials from South/Southeast Asia to a forestry training course, and to support follow-up activities.

To support research and training for sustainable management of rural resources and the conservation of biological diversity in Vietnam, and a joint program with the Forest Inventory and Planning Institute of Vietnam for integrating applied community forest management research into the institute's programs (over two years).

To support ecological surveys and the collection of traditional knowledge to produce local natural history and ecology manuals for teachers and students in Yap and Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia.
