Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business houses the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship. The Center focuses on helping social enterprises increase their scale of operations as well as supporting the development of the impact investing field. It has created an online learning program with videos, decision tools, step-by-step guides, and resources called CASE Smart Impact Capital, designed to help social entrepreneurs and impact investors across the globe match the right capital to enterprise needs. This grant supports the Center’s effort to build a feasible and sustainable business plan for the program based on a thorough systematic estimate of market and impact potential and the resources that will be required to support growth. The plan aims to expand program access, thus resulting in more efficient capital-raising for social enterprises and a more robust pipeline of investments for impact investors, and ultimately leading to a larger amount of impact capital deployment in the field.
