The grant will facilitate discussions among international institutions and local organizations on mechanisms for violence prevention in unstable regions. Grant funds will support meeting costs, salaries, and administration.
The Dialogue Advisory Group is an Amsterdam-based non-profit that discreetly assists government, inter-government, and NGO actors with international mediation and dialogue efforts to reduce violent conflict and establish stable societies. The proposed grant would support the third annual “Amsterdam Dialogue: Promoting Peace and Protecting Rights.” The conference will bring together peace mediators and human rights practitioners to engage in a practical examination of the interplay between peace promotion and human rights in a number of transitional justice settings, including Kenya. MacArthur funding would cover conference-related expenditures including travel, daily expenditures, and salaries.
