Founded in 1898, DePaul University was established to fulfill the mission of St. Vincent de Paul in educating the poor and the children of immigrants. It has retained this mission over more than 120 years, educating a highly diverse population of 22,500 students, including many who are immigrants and/or the first in their families to attend college. The University’s Institute for Housing Studies is a multidisciplinary academic research center that maintains an extensive data clearinghouse of information for original research and analysis on Chicago’s housing markets. This award supports operations of the Institute, which produces a range of annual applied research products, including price index updates, reports on rental housing, and data briefs on emerging housing policy topics.
