The Corporation for Public Housing (CSH), founded in 1991, is a national leader in advancing solutions that use housing as a platform to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people, maximize public resources and build healthy communities. This grant enables CSH to work with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by developing a coordinated reentry system, featuring effective housing referral mechanisms that ensure those leaving prison have safe, stable housing upon exit. CSH is assisting IDOC in developing a Housing Assessment Tool, screening and referral protocols, a prioritization plan for housing interventions, and performance indicators for transitional housing.
