The grant will provide general support to The Constitution Project as it works to build bipartisan consensus on significant constitutional and legal questions that impact individual rights. Particular areas of focus for the organization will include safeguarding privacy in an age of increasing surveillance and making the U.S. government more open and accountable.

The Constitution Project (TCP) is a civil liberties organization that brings together bipartisan coalitions to develop consensus recommendations for policy reforms and to conduct strategic public education campaigns. The grant will support outreach activities related to the 2013 report of TCP’s bi-partisan Task Force on Detainee Treatment.
