Comunidad Raíz Zubia

Comunidad Raiz Zubia is a grassroots organization located in Guerrero State and a leading member of the state chapter of the National Safe Motherhood Committee. With this award, Raiz Zubia serves as the local coordinating agency for work to promote midwifery in the state, including adapting or creating communications strategies and messages to the state context and ensuring that they are disseminated to the appropriate audiences in high priority areas. Expected outcomes include improved coordination and understanding between traditional and professional midwives, and between midwives and their communities, and government authorities at the state and municipal levels.
