Claretian Associates

Founded in 1991, Claretian Associates responds to the needs of the South Chicago neighborhood and the surrounding communities of South Shore, East Chicago, and Calumet Heights. Claretian Associates manages programs on community safety, affordable housing, environmental awareness, food security, and community advocacy. Its violence prevention and street outreach programs employ community members and utilize trauma-informed programs to connect residents to appropriate services. With this award, Claretian Associates convenes residents of South Chicago to determine the types of arts and cultural programming that community members would like to have available in the neighborhood.
