Civitas Ensemble

Civitas Ensemble presents high-level, live classical music in traditional and non- traditional venues, such as hospitals, to provide healing through music. It also operates educational programs about classical music for young audiences. This funding is recommended in support of Civitas Ensemble's exchange with the Czech Republic's Gypsy Way Ensemble, to collaborate on arranging new musical works that combine classical chamber music with Gypsy music, to be performed in diverse venues in both the Czech Republic and Chicago. This grant funds direct project expenses: travel, accommodation, artist fees, musical equipment, recording, marketing, and administration. It is recommended as part of the International Connections Fund.
