The Change Collective, a project of Civic Nation, is a dynamic, national leadership network that trains, connects, and elevates emerging local leaders. It empowers emerging leaders with the skills, tools, and capacity to bring people together, bridge divides, build vibrant community-based partnerships, and solve problems at the community level across the country. Outcomes include leaders in communities who build strong, effective partnerships and coalitions that drive short-term and long-term change.
Civic Nation is a nonpartisan, nonprofit home for changemakers committed to strengthening democracy and fostering civic engagement, social justice and voter participation. It is home to seven high-impact national initiatives, including When We All Vote (WWAV), a national effort launched by former First Lady Michelle Obama to bring together individuals, institutions, brands, and organizations to register new voters and advance civic education, with a focus on reaching young people and voters of color. This project grant supports WWAV’s inaugural Culture of Democracy Summit, which will be held in Los Angeles, in June 2022. The three-day summit will convene thought leaders from corporate, entertainment, tech, and sports sectors as well as national and state-based voting rights advocates and educators for a national conversation about new ways to increase voter participation, protect and expand democracy, and fight voter suppression. The goal of the summit is to help change the culture around voting and identify new strategies to help close the race and age gap in voter participation.
