AMPT: Advancing Nonprofits

Chicago Cares recruits and supports volunteers to aid nonprofits in fulfilling their missions, building bridges between communities and inspiring civic action toward equity in Chicago. Working primarily on Chicago’s South and West sides, Chicago Cares matches 20,000 volunteers each year to projects led by community-based organizations. The organization also serves as the fiscal sponsor for AMPT: Advancing Nonprofits, which supports the long-term development of nonprofits on Chicago’s West and South sides through technical assistance and capacity support. With this award, AMPT launches the Financial Resilience Capacity Building Initiative, which will help to stabilize and strengthen small and medium-sized organizations emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic.
