Centro para el Desarrollo del Indigena Amazonico has worked for 30 years in support of Indigenous efforts to title ancestral lands in Peru. This grant will build on CEDIA’s expertise to expand community forest management and biodiversity conservation by titling territory and strengthening management capacity of 20 Machiguenga and Ashaninka communities in the Apurimac-Upper Urubamba and Upper Madre de Dios priority watersheds. Specifically, the grantee will work to physically demarcate and legally title common lands, strengthen organizational governance of these territories and resources, and create a conservation concession that links Manu National Park to the newly titled indigenous communal lands.

To consolidate local participation in the management of Machiguenga and Megantoni protected areas in Central Peru (over three years).
