The Center for Rural Empowerment and the Environment (CREE) is an American charity established in 2007 working globally through environmental entrepreneurs. CREE invests first in the environmental leader and not a project, wildlife species, or landscape. Through championing local environmental heroes, CREE prioritizes people and relationship first to achieve objectives focused around human-environment conflict minimization. In Kenya, working in partnership with Ecofinder, this project will improve the management of the Dunga, Kusa and Koguta Wetlands within Winam Gulf. Through developing an integrated natural resource management approach, work will institute nature-based livelihoods, reduce human-wildlife conflict, and raise capacity through environmental education
