Founded in 2019, the Black Researchers Collective (BRC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to train and equip communities with the research tools necessary to be more civically engaged and policy informed. With this award, BRC convenes community members and researchers from the Austin, Englewood, East Garfield Park, and Auburn Gresham neighborhoods of Chicago to discuss each community's unique attributes, highlight the policy challenges most important to community members, and share best practices and insights from their engagement in neighborhood cohorts.
