ABFE (formally the Association of Black Foundation Executives), founded in 1971 and based in New York, NY, is a philanthropy serving organization that promotes effective and responsive philanthropy in Black communities. In response to the recent Supreme Court affirmative action ruling, ABFE—in partnership with other identity-based philanthropy supporting organizations—is working to strengthen philanthropy’s ability to withstand political and legislative attacks on racial equity and justice. This grant provides ABFE with flexible support for general operations as it leads this initiative.
ABFE (formally the Association of Black Foundation Executives), founded in 1971 and based in New York, NY, is a philanthropy serving organization that promotes effective and responsive philanthropy in Black communities. In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, ABFE is growing the infrastructure and capacity of the organization to expand its reach and suite of services. This grant provides ABFE with flexible support for general operations.
Established in 1971, ABFE (formerly Association of Black Foundation Executives) is a membership-based, philanthropic and nonprofit organization advocating for responsive and transformative investments in Black communities. Partnering with foundations, nonprofits and philanthropists, ABFE provides its members with professional development and technical assistance resources that further the philanthropic sector’s connection and responsiveness to issues of equity, diversity and inclusion. This award supports ABFE’s 2020 “HARAMBEE - LET’S ALL PULL TOGETHER” conference in Raleigh, North Carolina.
