American Jewish World Service (AJWS) is an international organization that works to realize human rights and end poverty. It supports 519 organizations across 18 countries to formulate and implement their own solutions to pressing global challenges. Amid a devastating second wave of COVID-19 cases impacting India, with historically marginalized groups facing significant challenges (including racial injustice), AJWS aims to deepen its support to grassroots partners working with these communities. This award helps AJWS strengthen and sustain Adivasi and Dalit communities amid the overlapping challenges of COVID-19, environmental degradation, and food insecurity. This work in India also reflects AJWS’s global commitment to racial equity and intersectionality.
