The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is a think tank that connects academics, activists and policy-makers to promote efforts to dismantle structural inequality. Using research, narrative, and campaigns, AAPF works with traditional and nontraditional changemakers to raise awareness about societal inequities and advance strategies that result in a more inclusive and just multi-racial democracy.
Founded in 1996, the African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is an innovative think tank that connects academics, activists, and policymakers to promote intersectional justice and dismantle structural inequality. For over 25 years, AAPF has harnessed the insights of intersectional legal scholarship through advocacy, activism, and public discourse. This award supports AAPF's general operations, enabling the organization to strengthen and deepen its capacity to engage conceptual frameworks and participatory approaches to grassroots activism and address these racial justice and social change issues.
The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is an innovative think tank that connects academics, activists, and policymakers to promote efforts to dismantle structural inequality. The organization utilizes new ideas and perspectives that transform public discourse and policy. It promotes frameworks and strategies that address a vision of racial justice that embraces the intersections of race, gender, class, and the array of barriers that disempower those who are marginalized in society. AAPF’s work is organized around public education and programming, direct education and training, and direct services. The award provides general operating support to the organization.
