Tribal Justice documents the work of two Native American women judges in California as they strive to reduce incarceration rates in their communities by focusing on restorative rather than punitive justice. The film will also profile the offenders, giving viewers the opportunity to better understand the specific problems that affect Native Americans living on reservations. Tribal Justice will provide audiences with a new understanding of tribal courts, inspiring those working in the mainstream legal field to consider new methods that can lower incarceration rates and enable offenders to make reparations and rebuild their lives.
