Simone supports the Chicago Commitment team by managing essential operational processes, helping the team work effectively toward its goals. She contributes to supporting a department that shapes strategies to uplift communities by investing in local needs, spaces, and collaborative partnerships, all with a focus on advancing racial equity and fostering an inclusive Chicago. She also enhances the team's work through editing support, ensuring clarity and cohesion in communications.
Simone joined the MacArthur Foundation in 2024 after four years at McMaster Carr as a Publisher, where she developed digital marketing strategies and enhanced product details for increase in website traffic. Previously, she served as Editorial Assistant for The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, where she managed social media, edited manuscripts, and managed Continuing Medical Education initiatives. Additionally, she brings experience from A Willing Participant advertising agency, where she led social media strategy, SEO, and ad campaigns to elevate brand presence across digital platforms.
Simone received a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary, Urban, and Popular Music from Columbia College Chicago as well as a Master of Arts in Digital Communications & Multimedia Arts from DePaul University.
Simone is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as well as the Recording Academy as a Grammy U member.
