Eric Vaang is the Managing Director, International, in the Foundation’s Investment Department.
His primary responsibilities include investment manager selection and supervision, portfolio analysis, and global market research for non-U.S. public equities.
Before joining the Foundation, Vaang was an Investment Consultant at Mercer Investment Consulting where he performed quantitative and qualitative analysis on investment managers and their strategies for a variety of institutional clients. Prior to this, Vaang was a portfolio manager in Northern Trust’s Quantitative Management group where he managed passive and enhanced equity portfolios. Vaang began his career as a Child Care Worker for abused and neglected children in Addison, Illinois.
Vaang earned his Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and earned his Master of Business Administration at the University of Chicago with concentrations in analytic finance, econometrics, and international business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
