Elizabeth Quinlan

Elizabeth manages library services and resources and contributes to initiatives in the Knowledge Management department. She joined the Foundation in October of 2005.

Prior to her work at the Foundation, Elizabeth was the librarian at the Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions at the Illinois Institute of Technology for five years. This interdisciplinary research library in practical and professional ethics holds the most comprehensive collection of codes of ethics in the world.

In 2001, Elizabeth co-founded a local professional organization, the Chicago-Area Solo Librarians (CASL), which provides a network for those managing one-person libraries in the region. From 2009-2011, she served on the board of the Metropolitan Library System (now RAILS), a membership organization offering professional development and continuing education opportunities, resource sharing and delivery, and advocacy for libraries in Chicago and in the suburban communities of Cook, DuPage and Will counties. Elizabeth served on the ILLINET Network Advisory Committee (INAC), an advisory board to the Illinois State Library on statewide networking and resource-sharing initiatives and programs for libraries. She is a member of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) and the Consortium of Foundation Libraries (CFL).

Elizabeth earned a B.A. in English literature in 1994 from Saint Mary's College (Indiana), an M.A. in English (Anglo-Irish literature) in 1995 from National University of Ireland, Maynooth, and a Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) in 1999 from University College Dublin, Ireland.
